Layered safety glass Connex® is an excellent design element for safety glazing. Layered glass is made up of two or more sheets of glass bonded together with a polyvinylbutyral (PVB) interlayer. PVB film is characterized by particularly high strength, elasticity and adhesion. In the event of breakage, the glass fragments remain bonded to the plastic interlayer and are less likely to cause injury to people or property. In a fully framed conventional installation the glass fragments are held together and the glass retains a residual strength while awaiting replacement. Safety glazing offers:
- protection of people and property against the risk of damage, vandalism and burglary: at an appropriate composition capable of resisting violent and repeated impact with the steel ball, ax or hammer. Barrier is passive, and therefore must only be understood as a temporary protection against an attacker.
- reduces glare, reflects heat, absorbs sound, reduces the penetration of the UV radiation
- is characterized by stability against abrasion, corrosion, atmospheric effects
Range of safety glasses:
- connex 3.3.1
- connex 4.4.2
- stratobel VSG with matt foil
